festival of trees.

Yesterday I went to the Festival of Trees in South Jordan with my Aunt Julie and my cousin Jen. It was way cool. The event has a ton of trees that are all decked out with tons of fun and unique decor. The trees are for sell with all of the decor and the money goes to charity. 100% of the proceeds that are made at the festival are donated to Primary Children's Medical Center. The trees are decorated by many different organizations and families. Many of the trees are in memory of someone that was treated by Primary Children's Medical Center. Each of the trees has a sign with them and on the back you can read the story of the person who is being remembered. After reading about five of the stories... I had to stop or else I would have been bawling the entire time at the festival. There were many GORGEOUS trees but, I mainly took pics of the funky fun ones :)
The Nightmare Before Christmas tree... kinda awesome. right?
This "I Love Lucy" tree was a little intense.
This cute little girly tree was in memory of a sweet little baby girl. The pink hydrangeas on the tree were absolute genius... don't be surprised if you come to my house in the future and I have them on my Christmas tree :)
This tree was in memory of an ultimate BYU fan. Go Cougars!!!

TLC

I LOVE TLC. Yes, I shouldn't have time for TV, but some how I make time. I LOVE watching Say Yes to the Dress, Cake Boss, and Jon & Kate Plus 8. Yes, I will admit it. I am very sad to see the Jon & Kate Series come to an end :( Tonight will be kind of sad. In my perfect little fairy tale world, Jon and Kate will get back together and they and their 8 children will live happily ever after. Let's be honest I am more of a realist so for me to have so much hope for them is kind of hilarious. For the record... I am not on team Jon or Kate. I am on Team Cara, Mady, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel!

Don't laugh! So... I fell in love last night/morning at around 12:47 a.m. in a movie theater. I would like you all to meet my new boyfriend... well in my dreams. Yes, I am a little obsessed. Here he is!!!
Isn't he gorgeous?

This is a special gem.

This is from an article on CNN...

9 extravagant holiday gifts

Each year, Neiman Marcus unveils a handful of over-the-top fantasy holiday gifts. Take a quick spin through the luxury retailer's 2009 Christmas Book and you just might forget about scaling

back this year.

Customized Cupcake Car

Price: $25,000
This cheery confection is like a delicious-looking go-kart. Coast down the road in style at a top speed of 7 m.p.h. in a Cupcake Car that comes in different-colored "flavors," as well as your choice of decorations like sprinkles and icing. And yes, it comes with a matching hat.

This is HILARIOUS/RIDICULOUS. Who in their right mind is going to buy one of these? Even if I had all the money in the world I would not buy one of these.

Today's high and low.

My high for the day was...
Tonight I went to dinner with my very dear friend, Heidi! It was so fun to catch up with her and talk all about life. She is getting married and I LOVE weddings, so I loved hearing all about her upcoming plans and funtivities :) Heidi has always been an amazing friend and example to me. I look up to her in more ways than she knows. Spending time with friends like Heidi reminds me that there is still so much good in this crazy world. I love her so much and am so excited for her and Jesse to get married! Love you tons sweetie!

I mean this wasn't a real low... but I did get low. I totally fell BIG time tonight. I was leaving my friend's apartment with Kassandra and with a vacuum in hand and I ate it. I mean it was really loud and we were laughing really hard. I think I was trying to laugh a lot so I wouldn't cry. But... my knees don't look too hot. I skinned a layer of skin off both, which isn't really a big deal. I have more skin, but my right knee looks like I am a really big golf fan and decided to implant a golf ball into my knee. It is awesome. Anyways, it hurts but I will live.

eye spasm/twitch... whatever the proper term is

When I woke up on Thursday morning my left eye was twitching. I had woke up real early and got almost no sleep so I thought for sure it was from the lack of sleep and would go away later in the day. I was so wrong. The eye twitch lasted for four days. On Saturday it was really bad. It was pretty much a steady twitching all day long. It rarely stopped. I spent Saturday with my cousin and bless her heart because she had to listen to me complain about it all day. People probably thought I was on drugs. I mean it was BAD. Yesterday, with great concern, I looked up causes for eye twitches. The top two reasons were: (1) lack of sleep and (2) over consumption of caffeine. Of course, I was guilty of both of these. Hello! They go hand-in-hand in my world. (Diet Coke was on sale so I have a surplus and have been taking full advantage of my DC...oops) So... I will be slowing down on the Diet Coke. When I woke up this morning the twitch was gone. Thank goodness because one more day would have put me over the edge.

laughing on the inside.

today i was sitting in my finance class and this boy, excuse me... man in front of me was looking up recipes on the Taste of Home website for pumpkin bread. it was pretty funny because this guy looked like such a guys guy, but apparently he was feeling a little in touch with his baking side today. i really wanted to laugh out loud but decided that would not be appropriate.

best friend.

my best friend will be getting married in a little less than 4 days. i am freaking out inside. i love her. we have known each other for almost 5 years but if feels like forever. as you grow older, you realize that some friends will come and go and some will be forever. she is one of my forever friends. i love her and am excited for miss kindred and mr. gavin. i cannot wait to be in california in about 30 hours and 24 minutes to be there with kelly jo. she has always been there for me. we have had so many good times. late night del taco runs. driving around provo for no reason screaming at the top of our lungs to damien rice. grey's anatomy all night long with meg. sushi. accompanying kelly to indie dance parties and looking like an idiot. brownie trifle. making her take pics at the beach. sitting on the phone for hours even if we aren't talking just so we can pretend that we are sitting together. crying together. laughing together. loving it all and not being able to wait for more fun hilarious crazy memories.
love you kelly jo!!!

Team Taylor

I meant to write about this last night, but I just was watching the news and was reminded of this fabulous event. At the VMAs on Sunday night, Kanye so kindly got on stage and spoke highly of Beyonce. Oh wait... Taylor Swift was on stage accepting HER award for best female video of the year when Kanye stole the mic from her. Poor Taylor! If I was Taylor, I am not sure if I would have cried or punched Kanye in the face. I'll tell you what... Beyonce should have gotten on stage and used some of her butt-kicking moves from her movie "Obsessed" on freakin' Kanye. Kanye will no longer be on my iTunes or iPod... I never really loved him, but he had a few tunes that I would shake it to. My Kanye days are over. I just saw on CNN that President Obama called Kanye a "jackass" when he saw what Kanye did to sweet Miss Taylor. I am pretty sure that Obama's comment about Kanye is the first thing I have agreed with the President on. One of the best comments about what Kanye did was from a friends's facebook status saying the following:
"I hope Kanye doesn't show up to Patrick Swayze's funeral. and say 'i'll let you get back to your
funeral in a minute.. but Michael Jackson had the best death of the year. just sayin'"
Team Taylor!!!

tiny bubbles... well not so tiny

I don't mind doing the dishes. I actually enjoy it most of the time. This new love for dishes has only been since coming college. (sorry the love didn't come sooner mom!) Last night at about 11 pm I decided to fill up the dishwasher. I got all the dishes loaded up and then went to put the soap in, BUT we didn't have quite enough dishwasher soap. I decided that I would just add a little dawn dish soap. umm... BAD IDEA of the century!!! Don't ever do this!!! Bubbles galore outside of the dishwasher. The clean-up and scooping out of bubbles was not a fun job at all especially late on a Sunday evening. I probably am not smarter than a fifth grader, but I do attend a well respected university. You would have never guessed from this story. Today I told my mom what I had done and she said she did the same thing when she first got married. So at least I won't make this mistake at marriage. Don't worry... I decided to read the bottle of Dawn after I had a mess on my hands and it states, "NOT FOR DISHWASHER USE." Oh... Perfect!

WEDDINGS... I love them!!!

Here is a compilation of wedding festivities I have had the privilege to attend in the last like 5 months. Anyone that knows me knows that I attract weddings, but it is ok because I LOVE weddings. ( I have married off 11 roommates in my college career)
My old roommate and one of my very best friends, Holli and her husband Abe on their wedding day on April 1, 2009. It was a beautiful wedding and my very first trip to Texas! Holli and Abe were married in the San Antonio temple. I was honored to be one of Holli's bridesmaids and I just love Holli SOOOO much. We have had many great times toge
ther as friends.

This is my old roommate Ally and another one of my very best friends. Ally got married on May 16, 2009. I love this little sweetie tons! She is amazing. She got married in the Oakland temple and her reception was at her home in Palo Alto, CA. I had a fun stay and trip to Northern California. Her wedding was gorgeous and I am so glad I was there to share in Ally and Eric's special day.

One of my oldest friends from high school, Syd got married. Yay! This picture has a ton of the girlfriends from high school. Syd's was the most recent wedding on August 15. It was a TON of fun. Syd and Josh were sealed in the San Diego temple and the reception was at home in Temecula. It was great to see a bunch of old friends and to see the happy couple.

RANDOM thoughts and recent events...

So... I have not posted forever! I am just going to throw out a bunch of sentences that may not make a ton of sense, but will be just a little update to my life. Here we go!

I absolutely LOVE cold cereal. I really truly love it. The other day I ate Reese's Puffs for breakfast, Lucky Charms for lunch, and Honey Shredded Wheat for dinner. May seem gross, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. My family switched to fat free milk, which I believe to be a sin to put on cereal. Since I have been home, I buy 1% milk and put my name on it in the refrigerator (just like with my food in college, it helps me feel a little more independent). Yep, I can be a little high maintenance at times.

These past couple of days I have spent a lot of time reminiscing with old friends. I LOVE my friends, they are some of the best ever. I went to Syd and Josh's wedding this evening and it was a beautiful event. It was a great time filled with much love and happiness. College is great, but it is really nice to come home and see old familiar faces and even sometimes meet some new ones.

I love to dance. I do not care if I look like a fool. I have a ton of fun shakin' my moneymaker! I LOVE it!

I LOVE weddings. I know that sometimes I complain about going to so many weddings, because I have been to a ton but I really do love them. I love all the happy people, the flowers, the cake, the decorations, the planning, the love... I LOVE it all! I have a confession. I buy wedding magazines and books all of the time. I am nowhere near getting married so go figure. Although, my ultimate dream job is a wedding planner.
P.S. My major is business finance so we will see how I will work the wedding planning in.

PDA: Public Displays of Affection

I heart BYU... really I do.  Sometimes though... I wonder if I am invisible because people do the strangest things in front of me.  I am sitting in the Cougar Eat... on a Friday at 5:39 p.m. and next to me is a couple.  I am pretty sure they are freshmen.  Boy sits down with girl. Boy starts complaining about everything under the sky.  Girl patiently sits listening trying to be very kind and he continues to get angry with her about their plans for the evening and how is is SO stressed.  They both stand up and separately get their dinner.  Girl returns to the table with her food and bows her head to pray.  Girl is probably not only blessing her food but, also hoping that Boy will stop being mean.  Boy returns with his food and sits down but then asks her to stand up.  Girl stands like an obedient little puppy and they proceed to embrace. They stand by their table of food hugging and rubbing and touching and staring into one another's eyes.  I guess they made up.  Really???  They were SUPER awkward.  I wanted to yell.  Dear Boy and Girl... please don't spread your awkwardness to the world.  It could be contagious.  And... Girl run for the hills.

So... I have some very exciting news.  I am not engaged or pregnant.  Sorry! Those are two wrongs guesses.  I got accepted to the...

I am extremely excited!  This has been something I have been working toward for awhile and all of my hard work has finally paid off!  Thank goodness!  I am so thankful to a loving Heavenly Father and Savior because without Them I would not have made it through the process alive.  I start the program spring term and am super stoked!  Thanks to all the love and prayers from my family and friends.  They paid off!  xoxo

A very fun-filled fabulous weekend!!!

There were some very exciting things in the life of Danielle this weekend.  I had the opportunity to travel to California this past weekend for one of my very best friends weddings.  I am so happy I was able to be a part of Heather's special day.  Heather Nilsen is now Mrs. Taylor Osborne.  She was the most beautiful bride.  Her and Taylor are so great together and I could not be happier for the both of them.  They are fabulous!
My old roommate Jessie had her baby on Saturday.  Her name is Bella and she is a doll.  I am in love with her.  I skipped humanities class today to play with the baby.  It was one of those "good, better, best" decisions and I felt pretty good about it.  Jessie and the baby are going back to California for 2 weeks so I had to get my fix.  duh.  There are plenty of pics down below of
 both events.
Well... I went a little picture crazy because weddings and babies... lets be
honest two of the best things ever!!!
Heather is a Mrs. aaawwww!

Yep... Snow Pictures NOT Allowed

Yes, I am just NOW getting back to posting the rest of my many pictures from winter break/December time.  And... yes, I live in Utah and I avoid all pictures of the snow.  This is my third winter in the oh so white Utah and... I am pretty sure that I have never taken a picture on my camera of the snow.  I think i have convinced myself that if I take a picture in the snow then I can't live in denial any more about residing in snow country.  The bottom line is that there will be no pictures of snow on this blog because to me pictures of snow do not exude happiness.

Fun with Jessie...

My beautiful roommate Jessie and I have had some good times this last December.  She has moved out which makes me very sad but, she is still our roommate in our hearts and comes around quite often.  Love her!!!  On December 13th... I think that is the date???  We had her baby shower and later that night I was one of her models for her a school dance/activity things she had. All of the festivities were way fun that day!  Here are some pics of the events...
Here are me, Jessie, and Kassandra at her baby shower.  Christina and Lyndsey made the shower absolutely fabulous!

umm... i cannot get the other pics to post so... they will be coming in another post.  maybe tomorrow when i am not too tired and can actually use correct grammar and punctuation

SNOW

i hate snow. it is the only thing that i will ever say that i hate. well... i actually said that i hated utah today while i was trying to help a friend shovel her car out of the snow but really it is the snow i hate. i don't like utah because i hate the snow. my car is currently buried in the snow. hopefully i will be able to get it out tomorrow but, it could definitely be questionable. i have scrapes and bruises on my hands from trying to shovel snow. california girl trying to shovel snow is really a priceless sight.

YAY for 2009!

me and the blogging world have not been getting along lately because of finals and all the craziness of december with Christmas and new years.  i am so tired that i am using horrible english and grammar.  but... i am here to say that i am going to improve on this blog thing in 2009.  life is very exciting right now and i will soon give a proper update.  and i have one more thing to say/type... i HATE the snow and have no desire to go back to it.  NO desire...
